Circular or double pointed?

Are you tired of keeping stitches on double pointed needles?

Do you find it difficult to avoid the "ladder" gap when using double pointed needles?

Do you have trouble making the necessary decreases when knitting in the round on circular needles?

Maybe it's time to try using two circular needles when knitting in the round. It sounds more difficult that it is. You simply divide your stitches between the two needles and continue to keep the stitches on those needles. For example, if you are making socks with 80 stitches, you knit across 40 stitches on needle 1. Then knit the remaining 40 stitches on needle 2. On the next row, you return to needle 1 and repeat.
When you use this technique you can avoid the "ladder" gap between the needles. You can also select longer circular needles, making it easier to keep your stitches on the needles. Longer circular needles also allow you to work on larger projects in the round, like sleeves.

Resolutions for 2009

Happy New Year! We'd like to wish everyone a safe and happy 2009. Many of us will be making resolutions for the new year. Some of us may resolve to loose weight, quit a bad habit, or reduce stress. Here are a few suggestions for how knitting can help you meet these resolutions and have a great 2009...
  • Knitting will keep your hand busy, allowing you to snack less often, and you don't want to get potato chip grease on good yarn.
  • Your hands will also be too busy to chew your fingernails, smoke, or partake in other habits.
  • Studies show that knitting reduces stress, so knit more!
We here at Bonnie's resolve to knit more and enjoy all the benefits it brings!

If you're snowed in and need more yarn, give us a call or place an order online. We'll get it to as soon as possible. You can stay warm and cozy and keep knitting!
